Activities to promote
the conservation of strategic
ecosystems in the Valle del Cauca

In partnership with Corpovalle, we support the Valle del Cauca Departmental Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development in carrying out its core activities focused on conserving areas of strategic importance for biodiversity in the department, strengthening climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts, and developing productive alternatives for the sustainable use of biodiversity in Valle del Cauca.

Under this agreement, 102 voluntary conservation agreements were implemented to protect 190.74 hectares, including the delivery of 20 energy-efficient stoves and supplies for 82 silvopastoral systems, as well as the strengthening of productive alternatives for the sustainable use of biodiversity and its ecosystem services through the organization of 17 outreach events where the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences with the community, thereby strengthening citizen-led environmental education initiatives.
