Environmental Education and
Gender Equality

In collaboration with the Valle del Cauca Regional Autonomous Corporation (CVC), an environmental education program with a gender perspective was developed, helping to facilitate women’s meaningful participation in environmental management.

The Valle del Cauca department, comprising 42 municipalities, is home to various organizations—both in urban and rural areas—that are dedicated to environmental conservation. In this process, we collaborate with women-led organizations whose work focuses on implementing best practices in environmental stewardship. These organizations participated in the implementation of 100 sustainable production initiatives through environmental education programs, as a strategy to understand and apply women’s ancestral knowledge in production and environmental management of the territory, within the framework of the gender and environment policy guidelines established by the CVC.
